Trans-Cendence International
We set up and facilitate support group meetings in key cities. All of the leadership for the groups comes from community members who are trained and pass on the knowledge and experience they received as community members. Every group is set up with separate facilitators for trans/gender diverse; spouses/partners; and parents/family members with a facilitator for each group. And youth and young adult support for the groups that need that. These groups are able to meet in their own separate and safe space to share and talk about specific issues they need to share. We work with mental health professionals to offer the most comprehensive help possible.
We also offer education to the community and work as community partners with other organizations. We have helped organize and have participated in several panel discussions and workshops around the DFW area over the years. We present workshops and presentations at key conferences around the United States about the importance of family and community support.
DFW Trans Kids & Families
DFW Trans Kids & Families began in a small therapist’s office as a few families came together in 2015, to support their transgender or gender expansive children of all ages among the Dallas -Ft. Worth Metroplex. We are a LGBT friendly group, focusing on our gender non-conforming kids.
What started out as a parental support and therapy group soon morphed into a larger local kids and family support and social group, or even more of an extended family. This is an open an accepting group of people that has become tight-knit through similar circumstances and enjoys spending time together. We have grown quite rapidly since the Spring of 2015 and continue to see our numbers increase weekly.
Our many members are looking to make changes and help the world understand that transgender people are no different than anyone else. Creating education as well as friendship and community helps to strengthen our cause and make people realize that our families are just like theirs.
Our youth in the group range from children affirming as young as 6 years old and on up to college ages and beyond. We do have some parents in the group with children who no longer live at home, and whom are starting their own families!

Some of the scholarships listed are specific to trans and nonbinary students, or members of the LGBTQ+ community more generally, while others are open to current and future grad students more generally.
Some are available regardless of course of study, while others may be for those in certain fields. Have a look at 30 scholarships you can apply for as a trans or nonbinary grad student today on the Online Master’s Degree (OMD) website.
